Basler extends its most successful camera line with four new high-resolution Ace U models powered by Sony's IMX183 chip. With a resolution of 20 megapixels and a frame rate of up to 17 FPS, the new camera is especially suitable for applications that require detailed examination of precise structures.

On October 2, 2018, camera maker Basler added four new Ace U models featuring Sony's Exmor R series rolling shutter CMOS chip IMX183. The camera has a resolution of 20 megapixels, a chip size of 1 ", a compact shape and a cross section of only 29 mm x 29 mm. For precision structural inspection applications, such as printed circuit boards or display production, the four new Ace U camera models with a combination of these features are attractive. As the resolution of modern displays continues to improve, the market has put forward higher requirements for the resolution of cameras used for detection. Four new high-resolution Ace U models feature the Basler PGI image optimization package for both color and black and white cameras, which can correct artifacts and allow users to evaluate at the pixel level especially well. Basler delivers precision detection of high-resolution displays, excellent imaging quality and an attractive price tag.

Sony IMX183 uses innovative BI (backlighting) chip technology, which provides excellent sensitivity and low noise based on the small pixel size of 2.4μm. Each of the four new ACE cameras is equipped with a chip with superior photosensitive performance, providing excellent image quality even in low light conditions.

All four new Ace U cameras feature standardized GigE and USB 3.0 ports and a PGI image optimization package that combines 5x5 de-Bayer, de-color, de-noise, and sharpening enhancements. In addition, powerful GigE Vision 2.0 features such as PTP enable GigE models to perform even better. Basler Pylon camera software suite ensures quick and easy integration of ACE cameras.
